Description

Price per pack: 4 strips OR 36 studs. Strips and studs are sold as separate packs.

Yellow tactile indicators are the most widely used colour in accessible environments and the one standards treat as the default. The reason is straightforward: yellow gives the greatest luminance contrast against dark concrete, asphalt and black granite, so it is noticed both by a partially sighted person and by a hurrying visitor with normal vision. For people with residual sight it is the difference in brightness, not the hue itself, that proves decisive.

The indicator comes in two forms: a long bar continuously marks a direction of travel or a boundary, while a stud builds an attention-grabbing warning field — the head of a staircase, the approach to a ramp, a platform edge, the stopping zone in front of a door. The surface carries a diamond relief that does two jobs at once: it is felt underfoot and through a cane tip, and it resists slipping on a wet floor.

  • Bar element — continuous marking of direction and boundary
  • Stud element — forming warning and stopping zones
  • Diamond anti-slip relief — dependable even on a wet floor
  • Suitable indoors and outdoors, adhesive or mechanical fixing

Yellow is chosen for entrance areas, staircases, metro and bus stops, shopping centres, schools and hospitals — places where footfall is dense and a mis-step is costly. Where the floor finish is itself light, a black or dark version deserves consideration: what matters is not the colour in itself but the contrast against the background. Solutions are selected taking accessibility norm requirements into account.
